A report by the Civic Engagement Initiative (CEI) showing in 2008, Boston voter turnout hit its highest percentage in nearly 50 years—led by the city’s minority neighborhoods. Voter participation among people of color has grown dramatically in recent years—often by double-digits—sparked by the CEI, a unique non-partisan effort to increase voter participation in Boston and Chelsea’s most disadvantaged communities. Access Strategies Fund is one of the lead funders of CEI.
